Terms of use
In short. The app is free, with no account; an ad may play when you open two of its pages, never over the weather. What it shows is a weather model's estimate for the place you asked about — useful, often right, and never a warning. If you or someone near you is in danger, call 911 in the United States, or your local emergency number. Do not wait on this app, and do not write to us: we cannot help in an emergency. Everything you do lives on your phone. We can change the app and one day we can end it, and if we do we will say so first.
Who you are agreeing with
These terms are between you and Manaforge, who makes the app and runs this website. Using the app or this site means you accept them. The app asks you as well: its opening screen carries both this page and the privacy policy, and says that its one button is the agreement. You meet it the first time the app runs, and again whenever these change in a way that matters. If you do not agree, the remedy is simple and complete: delete the app. Your privacy is covered separately, by our privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
What you may do with the app
Use it, on any device you own, for as long as you like. We are not licensing you the app's insides: do not sell it, rent it, republish it, take it apart or work backwards from it to rebuild it, except where the law says you may, whatever we write here. You keep no rights you did not have, and we keep everything we did.
The free app
The app is free, with no account, no trial and no meter. Ads pay for it, and there are two places for them and only two: an ad may play when you open Layers or Settings — pages with no weather on them — and at most once every thirty minutes across both. Nothing is ever drawn over the globe, the outlook or the search, and if an ad cannot load, or you are offline, the page simply opens. What an ad may see is in the privacy policy. If the app is here, the outlook is free.
“Free” is a promise about price, not a promise that the service runs forever. The section on changing and ending the app says what we can do and what we will do first.
What the outlook is, and is not
The outlook is read from weather models run by the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and published as open data — the High-Resolution Rapid Refresh over the contiguous United States, in its own quarter-hour steps for as far ahead as it publishes them, and the Global Forecast System everywhere on earth, in hours, out to two days — for the model's grid cell nearest the place you asked about, a few kilometres across. The hours ahead are the model's newest forecast. The hours behind are what the model expected for each of them at the time, read from its earlier runs: they are not measurements, and the app says so beside them. Each block is one of the model's own steps; nothing is read between two, and every block names the model and the run it came from.
The same is true of everything drawn on the globe. The radar layer is the model's reflectivity — what the model computes a radar would see — not a radar, and the wind layer is the model's wind. The acts-of-nature layer relays storms, earthquakes, fires, floods and volcanoes as the agencies that watch them report them, each marker naming who said so; the app issues nothing of its own, it can be behind, and an agency's feed can be down without the app knowing. A tide is a station's prediction, not a reading.
So: the outlook is an estimate, and it is never a warning. It can be wrong, it can be late, and it knows nothing about your street. The app is not an alerting service: it sends no alerts, it does not watch the weather for you while it is closed, and it must never be the thing you rely on to learn that a storm, a flood, a fire, extreme heat or extreme cold is coming. For any decision where the weather could hurt you or yours — travel, water, heat, cold, storms — use the watches and warnings of the National Weather Service or your own national weather service, and your own eyes.
NOAA's data is in the public domain, and NOAA and the agencies whose reports the app relays are not affiliated with, and do not endorse, this app. The app and this site are ours.

The support address at the foot of this page is read by a person, on ordinary working days, for questions about the app. It is not watched around the clock and it is not a way to reach anyone who can help you. Emergency services are.
What is yours
The place you asked about, the places you chose before, the last outlook the app fetched and the map images it kept are yours. They live on your phone, we do not hold a copy, and we could not hand them over or lose them if we tried. The privacy policy has the detail.
Fair use of the service
The app fetches the outlook from a small service with modest limits, and those limits are per person, not per fleet. Do not scrape it, mirror it, hammer it, work around its limits, or point something automated at it; do not use it to break a law or anyone's rights; do not try to reach parts of it that are not offered to you. If something you are building needs more than the app asks for, write to support@manaforge.co and ask — the answer may well be yes.
Changing the app, and ending it
We change the app: features arrive, features go, and the way the outlook is read may change under you. We may also change or withdraw the service behind it, and one day we may stop it altogether. That is ordinary, and we would rather say it plainly here than surprise you with it later.
If we do stop, this is what we will do. We will say so on this page and in the app's release notes before it happens, as early as we reasonably can. And we will leave your phone alone: nothing here reaches over and deletes anything.
And this is what still works. The app on your phone keeps opening, with the last outlook it read. What ends is the outlook itself: with the service gone there is nothing new to fetch, and the app says so rather than showing you something stale as if it were fresh.
Ending it from your side
Delete the app. That is the whole of it — no account to close, no email to send, nothing of yours left with us. We may end your use of the service if you break the fair-use section above, which in practice means the limits stop answering you.
No warranty
The app, the outlook and this site are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. We do not promise the service is uninterrupted, error-free or always available, that an outlook, a layer or a relayed report is accurate, complete or timely, or that the app fits any particular purpose of yours. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim the implied warranties too — merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Some places do not allow that, and where yours does not, this section applies as far as it can and no further. Nothing here takes away a consumer right your law gives you and does not let you waive.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss — including loss or harm from a decision made on the strength of an outlook, a layer or a relayed report, a warning the app did not carry, a cancelled plan, lost time or lost earnings. Our total liability to you is limited to what you have actually paid us, which is nothing.
That limit is honest about what this is: a free app that reads public models and holds no data of yours. It does not touch liability that cannot lawfully be limited — fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence — and it does not touch consumer rights your law gives you regardless.
Age
The app is a general-audience weather app meant for people aged 13 and over, or 16 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. It is not directed at younger children, and it collects nothing from anyone.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. If you use the app as a consumer somewhere else, you keep the rights and the courts your own law gives you — nothing here signs those away. If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
Changes to these terms
We post any change here and move the date at the top. A change that matters is also noted in the app's release notes on the App Store and Google Play, and the app opens on its first screen again, where the button is the agreement, before you go on. Using the app after a change means you accept it; if you do not, delete the app.
